Lahore: Director General Sports Punjab (SBP) Usman Anwar has expressed his resolve to work with World Martial Arts Council (WMAC) for the promotion of martial arts in the region; he showed this determination while talking to delegation of World Martial Arts Council at National Hockey Stadium here on Thursday. The 2-member delegation was comprised of President WMAC Alan Foster and Secretary Ms Sham Lyn.
World Martial Arts Council delegation visited various departments at National Hockey Stadium. Alan Foster and Ms Sham Lyn expressed their astonishment after watching the Punjab Youth Festival documentary.
The distinguished guests showered praise on DG Usman Anwar and Sports Board Punjab for holding mega event like Punjab Youth Festival saying that holding such a gigantic event containing millions of youth is not a small achievement. “SBP really deserved great appreciation for organizing three editions of Punjab Youth Festival and establishing dozens of Guinness World Records in a short span of time,” they said.
DG SBP Usman Anwar, on this occasion, said Pakistan youth are enriched with plenty of potential in every sport. “Millions of talented youth have emerged in during the past three years. Sports Board Punjab has organized several martial arts events in Punjab Youth Festival,” he added.
DG SBP informed the delegation that martial arts is one of the popular sports among the young generation of Pakistan including females. “SBP is ready to provide every possible facility for the holding international martial arts events in Pakistan,” he stressed.
