Cabinet Committee on Peace visits Faisalabad to review arrangements for Muharram

CM PUNJAB is chairing meeting to review security  for muharramLahore: Punjab Cabinet Committee on Peace led by Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan visited Faisalabad to review arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.Other members of the Cabinet Committee included Secretary Home Punjab Maj. (R) Azam Suleman, IG Police Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera and former IG Police Rana Maqbool Ahmed. The committee held a meeting with Ulema and religious leaders of various sects belonging to Faisalabad division.

Addressing the meeting, Rana Sanaullah said that all out resources are being utilized for maintaining peace and religious harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram throughout the province. He said that Ulema has always played important role for maintaining sectarian, tolerance,humanity and brotherhood and their guidance and cooperation will help in further strengthening arrangements of Muharram-ul-Haram.

He said that after Zarb-e-Azb operation, Ashura-e-Muharram is very sensitive,therefore, anti-state elements should not be given any chance of terrorism. He said that Punjab government has ensured ban on use of loudspeaker with the cooperation of Ulema, therefore, the ban on this law should be strictly implemented as some provocative speeches create religious tension.

The Provincial Law Minister said that peace committees will be activated at division, district, tehsil and police station level.
The cabinet committee also attended a briefing session at circuit house.

Rana Sanaullah said that there is need of high security arrangements and there is no room of any negligence. He said that solid steps should be taken in the light of previous experiences. He said that ID card should be given to volunteer after clearance of special branch.
