No transporter would be allowed to overcharge from passengers : Motorways Police

DIG Mirza Faran BaigLahore: No transporter would be allowed to overcharge from passengers, if any passenger is overcharged, Motorway Police would return from transporters to passengers. The strict enforcement against overcharging of fare by transporters be carried out and zero tolerance policy would be ensured on national highways & motorways.  This is said by Spokesman Motorway Police Syed Imran Ahmed Shah in a press release issued on Tuesday.

He said that DIG NH&MP Mirza Faran Baig  directed the officers to have a prompt response to the stranded road users and also give a prompt reply to the callers of 130 NH&MP Helpline.  He directed to the officers to have an eye on criminals so that the people would have a safe journey during Eid days.

DIG NH&MP Mirza Faran Baig   said that on the eve of Eid complete safety and security is being provided to the road users.  He said that on the eve of Eid no transporter would be allowed to overcharge from passengers and if anyone is overcharged, motorway police would make it possible to return the overcharge money to passenger from driver and these vehicles would also be fined and along with impounding the vehicle. Moreover, the banners containing the message of overcharging/overloading may be displayed at prominent places on highways so that passengers could contact through help line-130 in case of any violation, he added.

He said that officers should stress on helping the road users in distress more instantly as facilitating others is one of the salient features of the department. The DIG desired absolute impartiality strict discipline and zero tolerance towards corruption, dishonesty and rude behavior with road users.
