Gynecology Ward of Lahore General Hospital has turned into a state of the art department:Prof. Khalid Mahmood

LGHLahore: Gynecology Ward of Lahore General Hospital has been turned as a state of the art department, a center for healthy and safe lives of newly born babies and their mothers, where all modern medical facilities are readily available. The number of beds has also been doubled after the renovation and up-gradation of this ward which can now match international standard. The Gynecology ward has been modernized at a cost of Rs.1.5 crore and it was totally financed by philanthropists and Anjmane-Bahbood-e-Marizan, LGH.

This was stated by Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Prof. Khalid Mahmood while talking to media during his visit to newly arranged Gynecology Ward. On this occasion, Professor of Gynecology Dr. Norin Akmal, Prof. Nuzhat Khawaja, MS LGH Capt. Retd. Dr. Niaz Ahmed and Chairman Paramedics Association Rana Pervez also accompanied.

The Principal. Prof. Khalid Mahmood said that the project has been termed as the model ward of the hospital which can be compared with such ward of any hospital in private sector regarding patient friendly attitude of doctors, modern equipment and other facilities. He told that after the renovation, there are sufficient facilities for attendants as well as staff, including neat and clean kitchen, lavatory, sitting arrangements etc.

Prof. Khalid Mahmood expressed the hope that philanthropists and well to do members of the society especially old students of PGMI who are serving now in foreign countries would come forward to bring same change in other wards of the hospital. He said that such people hold great prestige and honor worldly as well as hereafter who selflessly serve the ailing humanity using their financial means.
