Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden calls on Dr. Amina Imam

Lahore: Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden called on Secretary Women Development Department Dr. Amina Imam at her office and discussed about women empowerment. The Canadian delegation included First Secretary Leslie and Gender Advisor Dr. Farhat Sheikh.

Dr. Amina Imam apprised the Canadian High Commissioner of government steps taken for women package and welfare of the women in detail. She said that Women Development Department has special interest in the programme of training of domestic workers. She said that training programmes for women are continuing with ILO and APWA.

She said that after completion of training, the women will be provided employment in order to enable them to stand on their own feet. Canadian High Commissioner appreciated government steps and assured cooperation for Women Department.
