Lahore: In order to eliminate the Crime from the province writ of law must be established across the board and unified Implementation of law should be ensured instead of selected implementation. And it could only be possible with the mutual cooperation of all stake holders of the society particularly, of media and police.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, while addressing the media persons at an informal interaction with media persons at Central Police Office Punjab Lahore, today.
IGP said that the crime always got on rise in those societies where the rule of law was not practiced thoroughly. He said to improve the working of the Punjab Police lots of reforms have been made so for which also included the Pilot Project started from ten Police stations of Lahore. He said this Pilot Project will be expanded across Punjab as it produced the desired results in shape of good behavior, timely lodging of FIRs and follow up of the registered cases.
The PPO further said that for the purpose to curb the menace of corruption from the department the record of all Police stations was being computerized.
He further said that the patrolling in Lahore with the purpose to control the streets crime has been enhanced and 100 new patrolling vehicles already have been handed over to Lahore Police. He told that Attock incident has been worked out and media will be briefed very shortly. He also appreciated and assured the media that their proposal regarding under cover patrolling will be implemented in busy areas of the cities. He also told that in future first hand information during any untoward situation must be shared with them and for the purpose DPR branch is being up-graded and centralized media policy will also be adopted in near future. He also assured the media persons that the department will seriously consider their proposals regarding introducing the Golden Shake Hand scheme in Police Department concluded, the IGP.
