Turkish bikers warmly welcomed at National Hockey stadium

Lahore: The sports enthusiastic families besides sports players from across the world will visit Pakistan during next Punjab Sports Festival. More motor events are being included in the edition of Punjab Youth Festival.

These views were expressed by Punjab Minister for Sports Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan and Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar while talking to media on the arrival of Turkish bikers at National Hockey stadium today. Turk bikers Taskin Yurdakadim and Polat Ozen entered Pakistan from Iran and reached Lahore via Baluchistan. They will participate in grand motor sports event being staged in Murree on September 5, 2015. Turk bikers were accorded warm welcome upon their arrival at National Hockey Stadium. The guest bikers thanked Punjab government and Sports Board Punjab for warm reception. They also expressed their complete satisfaction over the security arrangements in Pakistan saying that they faced no threat in any part of Pakistan.

In his media talk, Punjab Minister for Sports Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan said that people from all over the world were anxiously waiting for our next Punjab Youth Festival. “We are quite hopeful that families from many countries will tour Pakistan to witness enthralling competitions in the next edition of Punjab Youth Festival,” he elaborated. He said Turkey is our brotherly country and has extended cooperation in various fields including sports.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, on this occasion said that Punjab government and Sports Board Punjab have always extended every kind of support for the promotion of the sports in the country. Giving details about upcoming Murree motor sports event, DG SBP said that around 170 bikers from Punjab and a large number of sportsmen from around the country will participate in the mega motor sports event. “The bikers from Australia and other countries will also show their skills in the event. The upcoming event will be helpful in promoting motor sports in Pakistan,” he explained.

Later, Rana Mashud and DG SBP Usman Anwar also inspected the giant bikes of the guest bikers. Punjab Minister, who drove Taskin’s bike for a while, praised the giant motorcycle of guest biker.
