The government should accept their demands the farmers :Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Chaudhry Pervaiz ElahiLahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi terming the protest by the farmers as genuine as demanded that the government should accept their demands immediately.

In a statement issued here today, he said that PML supports farmers struggle and pledge to stand with them on every front, farmers are protesting for the last many months in support of their demands but the rulers do not see anything else then going here and there, whenever N-League comes into power it resorts to economic massacre of farmers, Pakistan is an agricultural country, if farmer of the country is not prosperous then how can Pakistan be prosperous.

He said about this farmers are concerned about their ready crops but the rulers have forced them to protest and for last two days the farmers have blocked Mall Road, the busiest road of Lahore, citizens are quite disturbed and worried but Shahbaz Sharif and Company is not bothered about it.

Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that economic murder of the farmers should be stopped, for showering favours on Indian farmers the rulers are destroying farmers of the Punjab, we will not allow this to happen, during our tenure we had remitted tax on twelve and half acres agricultural land, our govt paid 50 per cent electricity bill of tubewells, subsidy was given fertilizers prices, ensured provision of water up to the tail, water courses were concreted as such our govt had not only provided incentives to the farmers but also taken adequate measures for their prosperity all of which had been scrapped by Shahbaz Sharif due to which farmer today is much worried and hapless.

He said that the farmers are given special attention in every country but Punjab is the only province in Pakistan which is hostile towards the farmers.
