DG Sports Punjab visits newly-constructed international standard swimming pool

DG Sports Punjab visits newly-constructed international standard swimming poolLahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, on Monday, visited newly-constructed international standard swimming pool and other sports facilities in Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

Director Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Director Mushtaq Tiwana, PRO Abdul Rauf Roofi, District Sports Officer Nadeem Qaiser and other top officials were also present during DG SBP’s inspection visit.

DG SBP Usman Anwar also inspected the plant of hot and cold water, filtration and electronic system, touch pads and automatic timer during his visit.

Talking to media on this occasion, DG SBP said that international level swimming pool was on verge of completion. “The international swimming facility will be inaugurated by the end of next month,” he added.

DG SBP further informed that two pools have been built in International Swimming Complex. The main pool is of 50m and the other is of 25m length. “Both the pools are equipped with international level facilities. All the necessary devices have been imported for swimming. A US expert has already trained SBP staff for the proper functioning of modern system of swimming pool,” he narrated.

To a query, Usman Anwar told that the modern swimming pools are an invaluable gift for the Pakistan nation. “Our young swimmers can get training over here before participating in international swimming competitions,” he elaborated.

Answering a question regarding tennis stadium, DG SBP told that tennis stadium had also international level facilities. “It will be completed till October 30, 2015. We are quite hopeful that Pakistan will be able to host international swimming and tennis competitions in the next few years,” he maintained.
