Hameeda Waheed inaugurates daycare centers at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design

Hameeda Waheed-ud-DinLahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that a sum of three hundred million rupees has been allocated for the setting up of daycare centers in different cities of the province.

She was speaking at the inauguration of daycare centers at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design Johar Town and Government Said Mitha Teaching Hospital with the cooperation of Women Development Department, here today. The Minister said that government is also constructing working women hostels for facilitating working women. She said that 16 daycare centers have so far been inaugurated. She said that besides practical training of women in various arts and skills, soft-term loans are also being provided to them. She said that women are playing an important role in the strengthening of national economy. She said that government is taking various measures for the economic empowerment of women. She further said that women constitute 52 percent of country’s population and they cannot be neglected.

Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din also visited daycare centers and appreciated the facilities provided for children.
