Rana Maqbool Ahmad distributes laptops among Prosecutors

Rana MaqboolLahore: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab and Former IG Rana Maqbool Ahmad has said that Punjab Government is planning to upgrade prosecution department on modern grounds. In first phase of up-gradation 217 laptops have been distributed among public prosecutors of three divisions, Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad. He said that this process will cover all 36 districts of the province and special trainings will also be imparted to prosecutors.

Rana Maqbool Ahmad was addressing the ceremony of laptop distribution in secretary prosecution office today. Secretary Prosecution Syed Ali Murtaza, Prosecutor General Punjab Ehtisham Qadir and senior officers of the department were also present at the occasion.

While addressing the public prosecutors, Rana Maqbool Ahmad said that Punjab government is taking effective measures to train Public Prosecutors and enhance their capacity. He said that department is trying to provide prosecutors with modern training for dispersion of timely and effective justice. He instructed the prosecutors to work with the devotion to serve the oppressed. He said that Criminal Prosecution Department, Punjab has started Forensic and Digital evidence Training program for its prosecutors.

It is pertinent to mention here that Criminal Prosecution Department, Punjab was established in 2006 for dispensation of justice to the oppressed. The Department has succeeded in its goal as the success rate in convicting the criminals is 91 percent in Punjab this year.

The criminal investigation scenario is changing rapidly in Pakistan therefore; the department has decided to incorporate its officers with latest gadgets and modern training.
