Governor Punjab meets Rohingya Muslims delegation

GRC_July14-2015Makkah: Governor Punjab Malik Rafiq Rajwana, while expressing solidarity with the Rohingya Muslims, has said that Pakistan always support the oppressed Muslims across the globe on diplomatic and international level. He was exchanging views with a high-level delegation of Global Rohingya Center, here at Mecca.

The delegation, on behalf of Global Rohingya Center and Arakan Rohingya Unison, briefed the Governor about the ongoing serious violation of Human Rights in Myanmar related to recent Boat Crises and situation in the IDP Camps. Rohingya leaders were of the view that denial of Myanmar nationality is the root cause of all the miseries, Rohingya Muslims are facing there, including migration attempts to neighboring countries, human trafficking, and loss of lives and property, saying that exclusion of Rohingya Muslim votes for the upcoming Elections needs urgent attention of International community. The Governor Punjab was deeply saddened to know the first-hand information about the discoveries of mass-graves of poor Rohingya Muslims in the border areas of Thailand and neighboring countries and termed it as major crime against the humanity.

On the occasion, the Rohingya delegation, comprises of Shiekh Naeemullah, Engineer Mohammad Younus and Dr. Umar Farooq, has also expressed best wishes to the Government of Pakistan and people for providing moral and diplomatic support to the Rohingya cause.
