Ch Sarwar starts making hue & cry on pre-poll rigging

Ch Sarwar with Jahangir TareenLahore: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab Organiser Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has decided to write a letter to the Election Commission to lodge protest against the use of public resources for pre-poll rigging in the upcoming Local Government (LG) elections.

PTI delegation led by Chaudhary Sarwar will also personally meet the Election Commissioner of Pakistan and demand for deployment of Rangers during polling in the LG election.

Following a meeting with PTI Punjab deputy organiser Sibtain Khan and other leaders on Monday, Chaudhary Sarwar said the PML-N was distributing huge development funds to its MPAs as well as its ticket holders, who had lost elections against the PTI and other opposition parties’ candidates, to rig local body elections.

He said the PTI would lodge a formal complaint as well as meet the Election Commissioner of Pakistan to demand that it should ensure holding of transparent and fair elections. The PTI Punjab Organiser said the rulers were afraid of PTI’s ever-increasing popularity and planning to rig elections fearing their defeat. He said people were standing with PTI across the country and party supporters, workers and tigers were ready to foil any bid to rig elections by the PML-N.
