Pakistan Flour Mills Association withdraws the strike call after talks with Minister for Food

Minister Food & Floor Mills AssociationLahore: After successful dialogue with the government, Pakistan Flour Mills Association has withdrawn the strike call. Supply of water flour will be as per routine throughout the country today and supply of flour will also continue in Ramazan bazaars.

This was announced in a joint press conference by Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin and Chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Association Asim Raza Ahmed. President Sindh Flour Mills Association Mian Hassan, President Punjab Flour Mills Association Mian Anjam Ishaq and other office-bearers Liaqat Ali Khan and Mian Riaz besides Secretary Food Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed and Director Food were also present on the occasion.

Chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Association Asim Raza Ahmed thanked Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for conveying the stance of flour mills to Prime Minister Pakistan and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and playing an important role for making the dialogues with government successful. He said that government has assured the GST will be abolished on wheat husk.

Bilal Yasin thanked Flour Mills Association on withdrawing the strike call in the public interest. He said that Punjab government is taking vigorous steps for providing relief to the people and ensuring provision of essential items including flour and sugar during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.
