IGP gives approval to security plan for Youm-e-Ali

IGP gives approval to security plan for Youm-e-AliLahore: As many as 38356 police officers / officials including 747 private volunteers and officials of 887 peace committees will perform security duties on the occasion of forthcoming Youm-e-Ali R.A. Whereas, decision about the scanning of the routs of all taken out 181 processions and 863 majalis along with the deployment of 3 layer security was also finalized in first ever video RPO Conference held at Central Police Office, Lahore today, under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera.

All RPOs and DPOs were present on video link, whereas, Addl. IGP Operations, Punjab, Capt ® Arif Nawaz, Addl. IGP Special Branch, Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, CCPO Lahore, Capt ® Muhammad Amin Wains, Addl. IGP , SPU, Muhammad Tahir, Commandant Punjab Constabulary, Hussain Asghar, DIG Operations, Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Establishment-II, Nawaz Warraich, RPO Sheikhupura, Muhammad Shahzad Sultan, DIG PHP, Salman Chaudhry, DIG Operation, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, AIG Development, Ahmad Arslan Malik and SSP Admin, Lahore, Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera also attended the conference.

It was decided in the conference that all deployed officers / officials will display their office cards during their duty.

The security SOP for Youm-e-Ali will be followed on Youm-e-Al-Quds by field officers, decided in the conference, today. All processions and majalis will be monitored through 382 CCTV Cameras, 2805 metal detectors and 122 walk through gates will be used for search. Keeping in view the last Ashra of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik, the conference decided to enhance the security and surveillance of the holly places during Traveeh and Aitakaaf and for the purpose the field officers can also demand more force if required. CTD, Special Branch and other agencies were also directed to keep constant and close liaison for intelligence sharing with the field officers.

The overall law and order and crime situation was also reviewed in the conference and satisfaction was expressed over the decrease in crime like murder, Bank and jeweler shops dacoities. The provincial Police Chief directed officers to ensure the inspection of police stations twice in a month so that the accurate crime situation could be analyzed. Similarly, the visit of police lines must be ensured by the field officers so that the welfare of the force could be upgraded.

It was also decided in the conference that those forth schedulers who failed to deposit the surety bonds must be apprehended. IGP also directed that the DPOs must personally involve themselves to arrest the POs. The conference also reviewed the performance of the field officers regarding the elimination of heinous crimes.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera stressed upon the field officers to discourage the lodging of fake FIRs and also avoid to entangled the innocent people in murder cases.

It was also decided in the conference that all instructions of the honorable courts will be compliance immediately. IGP told the officers that the police welfare funds must be used for the welfare of the force and after audit no malpractice will be acceptable in this regard. He said that even welfare funds could not be used for IGP’s annexes as well.

Security of the Chinese experts working on various projects was also discussed in detail and it was decided that all DPOs will personally monitored their security including their mobilization and transportation.

In the conference IGP was told that to made the patrolling system more effective, Lahore police has been handed over 108 latest single cabin vehicles, whereas, the rest of districts will be handed over these vehicles very shortly.
