Low-lying localities flooded due to heavy rain in Lahore on Monday night

Rain in LahoreLahore : The city received heavy rain on Monday night which turned the weather pleasant while breaking the intensity of heat. Several low-lying localities in the city were flooded due to heavy rain and roads were submerged under rainwater causing traffic problems.

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed WASA, district administration and other concerned departments to ensure immediate drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas of Lahore.

He said that concerned departments should utilize all out resources for drainage of water from low-lying areas and send a report to Chief Minister’ Office.

The Chief Minister directed that the officials of concerned departments should remain in field with regard to disposal of water.

Meanwhile, The Met Office has predicted more rains in the next 48 hours. The maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore during next 24 hours would be 37 and 27 Celsius respectively with 80 percent of humidity
