Every year about 13000 deaths are caused due to accidents in Pakistan

DIG Faran Baig also distributed commendation certificates and cash prizes among trained driversLahore: Every year about 1.7 million people die in road accidents around the world while 13000 deaths are caused in Pakistan in which majority of number is that of children and youth.

Motorway Police is playing a pivotal role in order to reduce accidents in Pakistan said DIG Central Zone Mirza Faran Baig during his visit to Road  Safety Training Institute (Driving School) in Lahore.

DIG Mirza Faran Baig said that road safety is social issue and all the institutions and individuals will have to work together in order to materialize the concept of ‘Safer Journeys’. The role of Motorway Police in implementation of traffic rule and road safety measures is exemplary. Establishment of Road Safety Training Institutes (Driving Schools) where people are being trained as per international standards is a step further for promotions of road safety said DIG.

Well trained staff of motorway police in these institutes is providing quality training in accordance with international standards and syllabus as per modern needs. Latest driving simulators, mechanical labs and specially constructed driving tracks are being fully utilized for quality training. DIG Mirza Faran Baig further said that the trainees of Motorway Police Road Safety Training Institutes will not only help in bringing discipline on highways but also reduce the ratio of accidents.

Motorway police in these training institutes is not only teaching professional driving training but has also made teachings about morals, stress management, human values, cleanliness as integral part of its training. DIG Faran Baig also distributed commendation certificates and cash prizes among trained drivers for encouragement.
