Rana Mashud kicks off First Mian Muhammad Sharif Memorial Indoor Badminton Tournament

Minister EducationLahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan has said that youth is future of Pakistan and PML N government is committed to strengthen them. To combat terrorism, co- curricular activities and sports are very pivotal and the government is using all out resources for promotion of such activities.

He expressed these views while addressing inaugural ceremony of First Mian Muhammad Sharif Memorial Indoor Badminton Tournament in Gulshan Ravi today. MNA Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad and large number of players were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the ceremony, the minister said that availability of recreational opportunities is right of masses and PML N government is well aware of this reality. That is why Sports Festival and Youth Festival were organized.

While mentioning particularly PP-149, the minister said that several events including Children Literature Festival, Cricket Tournament, Mahfil-i-Nat and Meena Bazar for Women have been organized in the constituency. He said that tournaments of snooker, football and hockey will also be held in coming days.

He said that the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given approval of summary regarding graveyard of Bandpar whereas separate gymnasiums for women and men will be set up at MAO College ground in Shamnagar and summary of the same has also been approved.

He said that registration of more than 100 teams is proof of reality that people love such healthy activities. Shields and cash prizes will be distributed among best teams, he added.

While giving answer a question, the minister said that stern action will be taken against those elements who are responsible for mistakes in geography book.
