A delegation of Mid-Career Diplomats of Chinese calls on CM Punjab

unjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the friendship between Pakistan and China has turned into strong economic relations. He said that during the visit of President of China to Pakistan, historic economic package of 46 billion dollars has announced and there is no other example of such a big economic package of China. He said that China and Pakistan by working on CPEC projects will establish a new example of cooperation and friendship in the world. He said that economic package will not only bring progress and prosperity but Pakistan will also become economically strong. He said that the region will progress due to CPEC, new job opportunities will be created and poverty and hunger will be eliminated. He said that no country including India should object to China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. He said that CPEC is a strong mechanism to defeat terrorism. He said that CPEC project will help in elimination of terrorism and extremism. He said that China cannot be thanked in words for the economic package. He said that government of Pakistan and 18 crore people of the country are thankful to leadership of China and Chinese people for the great economic package.

The Chief Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Mid-Career Diplomats of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, here today. Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and China are bound together in strong relations of friendship while the people of the two countries are linked together in ties of love and brotherhood. He said that our friends and enemies are common. He said that the visit of Chinese President has given a new dimension to the relations between the two countries.

He said that China understands Pakistan’s problems and the announcement of CPEC by China is an extraordinary event in Pakistan’s history. He said that the project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor will greatly benefit the 18 crore people of Pakistan as well as the whole region. He said that CPEC will play an important role in making Pakistan an Asian Tiger. He said that the concept of genuine freedom cannot be complete without economic freedom.

He said that CPEC projects are of vital importance with regard to economic independence. He said that work will be carried out speedily on CPEC projects. He said that CPEC project has been evolved under the thinking to benefit the common man and no effort will be spared for the implementation of this project. He said that out of investment package of 46 billion dollars, a sum of 33 billion dollars will be spent only on energy projects.

The head of delegation of Mid-Career Diplomats of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Consul General and other members of the delegation during a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the steps taken by him for the welfare of the people and improving their living standard and said that a splendid programme is being implemented in Lahore as well as the whole province in this regard.

They said that Punjab’s economy is progressing and Punjab is changing due to improvement in infrastructure, provision of quality facilities to the masses and other development projects.

The members of Chinese delegation while appreciating the steps taken by federal government and Punjab government for improvement of economy said that Chinese cooperation will continue for the improvement of Pakistan’s economy and the dream of becoming Asian Tiger will be fulfilled.

They said that Punjab government’s direction is right with regard to improvement of economy and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is taking commendable measures.

The delegation while appreciating the tireless efforts of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for strengthening of Pak-China relations said that the role played by Shahbaz Sharif in this regard cannot be stated in words.

The delegation also congratulated Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on completion and inauguration of Pakistan Metro Bus project in a record period.
