A delegation of Sikhs calls on Khalil Tahir Sandhu

Sikh Community protesting against Sikh Genocide 84 on Mall roadLahore: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights, Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that government gives due importance to protection of life and property of minorities and will continue to raise its voice over violation of the rights of minorities in any part of the world.

Talking to a delegation of Sikhs, here today Khalil Tahir Sandhu strongly condemned discriminatory attitude towards Sikhs and other minorities in a neighboring country. He said that Sikhs and other minorities enjoy all constitutional rights in Pakistan. He said that no one will be allowed to make political capital in the name of religion. He said that government has always raised it voice in UN and other forums over violation of human rights and will continue to do so in future as well. The Minister also assured cooperation to Sikhs on behalf of the government.

Khalil Tahir Sandhu appreciated the setting up of a special committee by Prime Minister to provide relief to Rohingya Muslims of Burma. He said that international community and UN should take notice of the atrocities against Muslims in Burma and take immediate measures for the protection of their rights.
