Teachers from all departments of new campus and old campus, carrying placards and banners inscribed with various slogans against Javed Sami and Shamaila Gul demanded immediate removal of both members from the syndicate and a fresh election on both posts.

ASA leaders also met with all members of the syndicate and presented the teachers community’s concerns about both members of the syndicate to them. They also discussed the issue with MPA Majid Zahoor, Rozina Aalam and Amjid Saqib.

While addressing the participants ASA president Hassan Mobeen Aalam, Secretary Mahbood Hussain, Shahid Munir, Aabid Chaudhry and others demanded the governor  to remove both members who were involved in serious cases of murder and fraud.

They said that teachers of University of the Punjab, like to call Governor’s attention towards a crucial issue in relation with the best interests of the community that two members of University syndicate, Mr. Javed Sami and Mrs. Shumaila Gul, who were elected by our community in past, have lost our confidence now. It is because of the following reasons.

“The commitment of fraud, deceit and forgery has been proved against them. They have created hurdles in the way of promotions of the teachers by obstructing the proceedings of the selection board. They used their positions for their personal agendas and did not work for the cause of the community at large.”

They are earning a bad name for university and teachers community by mud slugging and negative propaganda against the alma matter despite of the fact that PU HEC ranking has improved from 5th position to 3rd position due to research promotion policies of the administration and ASA.
