US delegation at PBIT

LAHORE: Four members delegation from US including President, Global Business Development EXIM Bank,   Raymond J Ellis Vice accompanied by US Consul General, Zachary V Harkenrider, Commercial Counselor, Ms. Cheryl J Dukelow and Senior Commercial Specialist  Aftab Qamar  visited Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) today.

Chairman PBIT, Abdul Basit, Director General Ms. Lubna Pathan, Head of Turkey Cell, Haroon Shaukat, Director Agriculture, Livestock and Dairy Development, Dr. Suhail Saleem and Representatives of Health, City District Government, Agriculture, Finance and P&D Departments were also present.

The agenda of the visiting delegation was enhancement of the US export all over the world.

Raymond J Ellis gave a detailed presentation to the participants on “Reducing Risk – Unleashing Opportunity”. In which he explained that how EXIM fills the gap for businesses by equipping them with the financing tools necessary to compete for global sales, when private sector lenders are unable or unwilling to provide financing.

US Consul General appreciated   Punjab Government’s initiatives regarding investment friendly environment and said that US wanted to establish sound bi-lateral long-term relationships with Pakistan. He added that the Punjab government should identify those companies which are interested in investing in IT& other sectors. He also informed that US investors have shown keen interest to invest in Pakistan in Power, Gas and biomass projects.

Chairman PBIT acknowledged the delegation for such gracious investment initiatives in Pakistan. He further added that import of seeds and fertilizer material from US would increase the productivity.
