Punjab Cabinet served with one dish in cabinet meeting

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of provincial cabinet which lasted about four hours. The meeting discussed 10-point agenda.

The participants of the meeting were served with one dish as per tradition during the lunch.

The Chief Minister also talked in a lighter mood during the meeting. On an occasion, when the bill of violence against women was presented, a Provincial Minister said that there should also be a bill of violence against men as men are more victim in the present era upon which the Chief Minister said that you should talk only about yourself and not for all men, upon which, the participants of the meeting smiled.

During discussion on Punjab Marriage Functions Bill 2015, Shahbaz Sharif said that the ban on one dish and time should also be ensured on big farm houses as law is equal for all. He directed that the proposal to review the Marriage Functions Act 1998 for banning one dish and serving of soup in winter and cold drinks in summer be considered and added that this law was made in 1998 and it had provided relief to common man, white collared segment in the real sense.

He said that such measures are of vital importance for removing disparity between the rich and the poor. He said that we also have to restore the self-respect of the common man. The cabinet members welcomed this proposal of the Chief Minister.
