Kashif Mateen Ansari describes the Global Corporate Governance

. Kashif Mateen Ansari the President of the ICMA-PakistanLahore: A seminar on Global Corporate Governance was held at Lahore on May 15, 2015 under the auspices of the ICMA-Pakistan. Kashif Mateen Ansari the President of the ICMA-Pakistan was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his inaugural address he stated that good corporate governance plays a pivotal & positive role in improving business performance through participatory management, consensus decision making, accountability, transparency & promotion of efficiency & effectiveness. It was stated that the concept of governance is not new. It is as old as human civilization. He stressed that bad governance is the root cause of bad performance.

Muhammad Iqbal Ghori Vice President ICMA-Pakistan, Iftikhar Taj, Ale Imran siddiqi & Sadiq M. Naeem Mian also spoke on the occasion. They were unanimous in recounting the importance of governance for putting the business organizations on right track: the track of prosperity, growth & competitive edge.

Statedly good corporate governance refers to the management structures, principles & processes for direction & control of companies. It helps companies operate more efficiently, improves access to capital, mitigates risk, safeguards against mismanagement & roots out corruption. It was expounded that a well managed company is in better position to produce at minimums cost & thus can successfully compete in local & foreign markets. Being on the track of growth & prosperity it can generate more & more jobs. Collectively the well governed companies can contribute significantly towards solving the problems of unemployment thus alleviating poverty in society.

Earlier the address of welcome was delivered by Shaghir-ul-Hassan Khan, the Finance Treasurer of the ICMA-Pakistan at the conclusion  Noor ul Azeem Offered the Vote of Thanks.
