Medical professionals to run dengue awareness campaign:Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra

Lahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Prof.  Anjum Habib Vohra has stressed upon the medical professionals to convert dengue awareness message into a massive campaign so as to wipe out this menace from our country once for all. He also appealed to masses to always contact authentic doctors and hospitals and not quakes in case of dengue fever or other medical complications. He said that on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, all the treatment and diagnostic facilities about dengue have been made available 24 hours in government hospitals.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held in connection dengue awareness campaign here today. The meeting was attended Prof. Agha Shabir Ali, Prof. Farah Shafi, MS Dr. M.Saeed Soh-bin, Deputy Chief Nursing Superintendent Farhat Mehboob by all the senior doctors of the hospital.

Prof. Vohra said that dengue treatment facilities have been ensured at the dengue counters established at Emergency ward round the clock while doctors, nurses and other staff also remain present from 8 am to 8pm in the Outdoor ward. The senior doctors briefed the principal about the steps taken in their concerned departments against dengue.

Prof. Vohra told the meeting that as prevention measure, spray and fogging is being carried out on daily basis in the hospital so as to save doctors, nurses and attendants along with patients from dengue virus. He stressed the nursing superintendent to maintain the patient’s chart regularly as it helps great to monitor recovery and treatment process of a patient. He also made it clear that cleanliness in the hospital could not be compromised at any cost because it was the base of struggle against dengue.
