IGP distributes awards among the police officials for outstanding performance

Lahore: The practice to encourage the police officers / officials, who put their lives in danger during their duties with the spirit to secure the lives and properties of the people and also tried to curb crimes, will be continued. The police force will also perform its duties diligently till the arrest of last criminal in the province.Distributing Cash Rewards and Certificates

This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while distributing cash awards / certificates among the police officials for their outstanding performance in a fifth ceremony held at Central Police Office, Lahore today. DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, AIG Discipline, Dr. Inam Waheed, PSO to IGP, Tariq Rustam Chauhan and other officers of CPO were also present on this occasion.

According to details, IGP distributed 20,50,000 cash reward and appreciation certificates among 56 police officials of 7 regions of the Punjab. The highest achiever was Multan, D.G Khan and Sargodha regions, whereas, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura regions also got cash reward along with commendation certificates.

The top scorer was Multan region from which 39 officers / officials got Rs.14,20,000 on smashing the hardened gangs, arresting the kidnappers and heinous criminals who were most wanted by the Multan Police.

Similarly, D.G Khan region’s police officials received 1,60,000 cash reward by foiling a plan of kidnapping for ransom of two youngsters for which the kidnappers demanded Rs.5,50,000 for 24 years old Qaisar Rasheed and 300,000 for 06 years old Muhammad Umer respectively. D.G Khan Police delivered excellent performance by arresting the kidnappers and recovered two youngsters safely.

The third highest achievers today were four officials of Sargodha region who received Rs.1,25,000 cash reward. Sub-Inspector Ghulam Murtaza, Sub-Inspector Raja Akhtar Hussain, T/ASI Kaleem Ullah and Constable Ghulam Shabbir arrested three most wanted POs involved in double murder and other heinous crimes, by conducting a successful raid in the area of police station, Kamar Mashani.

While answering to the questions of the media on this occasion, the IGP said that the murder rate decreased by 30 percent in Punjab by execution on convictions. He further said that the process of promotion from constable to DSP will be completed within next two months. Similarly, for the promotions of constables to head constables, 5 thousands new seats will be created very shortly. IGP said that to provide the better educational facilities to the children of the police officials, not only the police schools will be setup but the department will also get affiliation with the quality schools to provide the educational facilities to the children of the police officials.

He also told that he established a system in CPO through which any officer / official can directly contact to him for their problems. IGP told the media that the foolproof security will be provided to the foreign cricket teams in future.
