I do not see general elections in 2015:Siraj ul Haq

pic ameer jipLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that he was not visualizing general election in the year 2015 and added that the federal and the provincial governments should be provided full opportunity to complete their term and deliver to the masses.

Talking to the media at Mansoora on Thursday, he said that the next election would be the day of reckoning for the rulers and the party which failed to deliver would have to face the wrath of the electorate.  “We don’t want any party to get public sympathy on the ground that it did not get full time to deliver” he added.

Sirajul Haq said the two year rule of the present government was a failure. He               counseled the government to concentrate on the service of the people during the time left with it. The government, he said, had completely failed to implement its election manifesto. The slogans of ending load shedding and provision of jobs to the youth remained unfulfilled, he added. He said that the ministers and advisors might have made fortunes but the life of the common man had worsened during the last two years. The government had failed to provide any relief to the people as poverty, unemployment and lawlessness had increased. Young men carrying degrees in their hands were running from pillar to post in search of jobs but in vain and the workers were looking up to the rulers for the solution of their problems. He said that as long as the corridors of powers remained closed to the workers and the poor, the plight of the workers would not improve.

He said the JI Shoora had decided to launch a mass movement for ending status quo as the JI believed that as long as the present corrupt system continued, the lot of the poor could not be changed.

Sirajul Haq said that the formation of the Judicial Commission was a big success of the political Jirga, and added that the Jirga had rendered great service in pulling the country out of political crisis.

To a question on the Yemen situation, the JI chief said it was a local issue that should be buried  there. He said an attempt was being made to project the Yemen situation as a Shia-Sunni conflict, and warned that such an conspiracy would only end up in large scale destruction.

“We are with Saudi Arabia”, the JI chief declared and added that Pakistan and Turkey should play the role of mediator in this regard and added that the Yemen war had done great harm to the Muslim world while Islam’s enemies had benefited from that.

To a question on the changes in the Saudi government, he said it appeared that the changes were being made in accordance with the wishes of the Saudi people.

Sirajul Haq said the JI had made an improvement in the Cantonment elections and he was sure that the party would emerge as a big political force in the local bodies elections and the next general elections.
