A delegation US Department of State calls on Punjab CM in Islamabad

Lahore: A delegation led by Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs, US Department of State, Amos J Hochstein met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad, today. Matters of mutual interest and ongoing projects in energy sector were discussed during the meeting. Talking to the American delegation, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that work is continuing speedily on the projects of generating energy through hydle, wind and solar for meeting the energy requirements and investment in this sector is being fully encouraged. He said that government is taking all possible steps vigorously for overcoming the shortfall of electricity and timely completion of long and short term projects is being ensured. The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made for resolving energy problems on priority basis for the durable development of the province and all possible resources are being utilized for this purpose. American delegation appreciated the steps taken by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif with regard to public welfare projects and speedy development of the province and assured complete cooperation in energy sector. The delegation included Deputy Chief of Mission of American Embassy in Pakistan Tom Williams, Economic Consular of American Embassy Ms. Daniela Ballard, Ms. Andrea Richter and Courtenary Dunn.
