Delay in refund payments hurting exports: SM Muneer

CM PUNJAB Shahbaz Sharif 1Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that government will not allow anything to including energy crisis to shrink growth rate.

He said that economic development is linked to the cooperation of business community therefore government is trying best to provide them enabling environment.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that while talking to a delegation of business community led by Patron-in-Chief of United Business Group (UBG) of the FPCCI. MNA Pervaiz Malik was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the economic policies and achievements are being acknowledged across the country and abroad which will change the fate of the nation.

He said that we are pinning high hopes on FPCCI and UBG to trigger exports and furnish effective budget proposals for the betterment of the economy.

The expos held in Karachi, India and other countries have not only helped exporters but also contributed to the image of country which is encouraging, he added.

At the occasion SM Muneer said that agreements worth billions of dollars with China, positive developments on KASA 1000 Project and LNG imports have gone down very well with the business community and masses in general.

One can see that Karachi is getting better as lawlessness has drastically declined; we hope that with the time passage Karachi would be completely liberated from criminal elements, he said.

He informed that Sales Tax refunds held by FBR has compromised capability of many exporters therefore authorities must be directed to release the same to improve cash flow of business community.

He added that exports are also linked to the sustainable energy supply which should be tackled as top priority.

We are in process of finalising meaningful budget proposals which would be furnished soon. The Chief Minister assured the delegation to take up the issue with FBR authorities and find an acceptable solution.
