Government College University Lahore is pride of Pakistan: Rana Mashud

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan has said that students are future of Pakistan and Punjab Government is using all out resources to equip them with quality education. Government College University Lahore (GCUL) is pride of Pakistan as it has always provided leadership to the country.

He expressed these views while addressing 13^th convocation of GCU. VC Dr Khaleeq ul Rahman, faculty members, students and parents were present on the occasion. The Minister said that PML N Government is taking steps for bright and prosperous future of Pakistan in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He said that the government is well aware of shortage of land of GCU and as much as 2.3 billion rupees have been provided by Chief Minister Punjab for Kala Shah Kako Campus consisting of 400 acres.

Moreover, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also announced Rs. 1 billion for the University. He said that the role of GCU is praiseworthy as it has performed well despite all difficulties.

Later, talking to journalists, the minister said that the route of economic corridor project is not being changed. He congratulated MQM on winning by polls of Karachi. The credit to bring peace in Karachi goes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he added. He said that PML-N will start vigorous political campaign in Karachi from 14^thAugust.

VC said that popularity of GCU can be gauged from the fact that as many as 34000 students applied against 4000 seats last year. He said GCU always provided leadership to homeland in every sphere of life.
