Hamza Shahbaz condoles the woman over the death of her husband & children

Lahore: Hamza Shahbaz MNA today visited Chowk Barfkhana, Gawal Mandi and gave financial assistance to a widow whose husband and two children died due to collapse of roof of a house a few days ago. He also expressed condolence and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the incident.

Irshad Bibi while apprising details of the incident to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif told that she was living in a rented house with his family which met an accident due to being in a dilapidated condition.

Hamza Shahbaz condoled the woman over the death of her husband & children and said that he equally shares their grief in this hour of distress. He handed over a cheque of financial assistance for Rs.15 lakh to her and assured a job for her son. Media Advisor to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Imran Ali Goraya, Muslim League workers and a large number of notables of the area were also present on the occasion.

Talking to media, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that under Walled City Project, comprehensive planning has been made for repair and reconstruction of all old and dilapidated buildings and an amount of Rs. 10 crore has been allocated for this purpose. He said that survey of all houses which are not worth living in the old city is being conducted. He said that such houses will be repaired on government expenditure. He said that Punjab government is implementing a policy for the durable solution of the problem regarding old residential houses.

Replying to a question, Hamza Shahbaz said that Punjab government is making efforts for raising the living standard of people and providing them proper and safe residential facilities through equal development of education, health, roads and other sectors of basic needs.

It would be pertinent to mention here that three days ago, a worker Muhammad Ikram, his two daughters five years Noor Fatima, and four year Dua were died due to collapse of a roof of a house in a street near Burf Khana Chowk Gawal Mandi. Two labouers were also injured in the incident.
