The bullet proof bunkers would be built at police pickets in Lahore: IG Mushtaq Sukhera

Lahore: In order to minimize the rise in martyrdom and deaths of police officers at the hands of terrorists / hardened criminals during the duty, IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has decided to provide the bullet proof bunkers at police pickets in Lahore.

For the purpose, IGP inspected the samples of these bullet proof bunkers presented before him at Central Police Office, Lahore today. These samples were prepared by the Pakistan Army.

On this occasion, Addl: IGP Operations Punjab, Capt. (R), Arif Nawa, CCPO Lahore, Amin Wains, DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf and Army Officers were also present.

Initially these bunkers will be provided at 20 pickets of Lahore. The bunkers would be moveable and could easily installed at any picket.

IGP told that a strategy to provide these bunkers to other cities is also under consideration.

The PPO said that after the installation of these bunkers, the police officials could perform their duty more confidently and without any fear.
