The violent protest ends as Rangers take charge in Youhanabad

Lahore: The violent protest continuing from two days after suicide blast at Churches ended as the rangers take charge to maintain law & order in ferozepur Road & Youhanabad.Police authorities who were trying to settle the issue by dialogue, have to use force against the protesters of two communities when they started pelting stones on each other.

The CCPO led police contingents baton charged, used water canons, fired tear gas shells but all these steps became futile as none of the groups ready to step back rather tear gas forced the Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Sumble, minister home Col (r) Shuja Khanzada and others to leave the place.

Capt.Muhammad Ameen all the time remain there even during the shelling and firing and motivated the force to face every problem.

Monday was the day when there was no rule of law at Ferozepur Road and Youhanabad. The hostile protesters broke number of vehicles, looted shops, beaten every man they wanted  and attacked a mosque too. This type of protest enraged the other community who gathered in large number and lined up to attack.Burning two labourers, attack on a mosque and sexual assault on a woman made the resident furious and they gathered outside the Youhanabad and started pelting stones upon the protesters that fanned the worst situation.

On the occasion,Police after dispersing the protesters of both communities gave another chance to dialogue even after the rangers also reached there to restore the order in the area. The fear of communities clash and law’s expected action made understand the leaders of both communities that if they wont end protest ,terrible situation could be faced by them and they announced to end their protest after dialogue with the political leadership and the administration.
