Medicines stolen from Services,General and Jinnah Hospital recovered from medical store

Parliamentarty Sec Health (1)Lahore: Parliamentary Secretary Health, Kh. Imran Nazir accompanied by Director General Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Drug Inspector Imran Sarfaraz, other officers of Health Department and police conducted a raid on a store in Shadman and recovered medicines of lakhs of rupees stolen from government hospitals. Police also arrested an accused.

Talking to media-men, Kh. Imran Nazir told that the medicines stolen from Services Hospital, Lahore General Hospital and Jinnah Hospital have been taken into possession and include antibiotic, pain killers and disposable items. He said that a complete inquiry will be conducted and the elements involved in theft of medicines from hospitals will be exposed. He said that strict action will be taken as per law against the officials of government hospitals involved in theft of drugs. He said that Punjab will be purged of substandard and spurious medicines within three months.
