Senator Raza Rabbani is the best choice for chairman Senate:Senator Taj Haider

Lahore: Congratulating Senator Mian Raza Rabbani on his nomination for the post of Chairman Senate, PPP Sindh General Secretary Senator Taj Haider has appealed to the Government not to put up its candidate for the post and elect Senator Rabbani unanimously for the post.

In a Press statement issued today Senator Taj Haider said that in view of Senator Raza Rabbani’s services to Democracy and to Pakistan People’s Party his nomination for the post of Chairman Senate is well deserved. The decision of the PPP Leadership to nominate him for the post is a reiteration of the Truth that our commitment to Democracy and the Rights of the working classes is as firm as ever and our struggle to achieve these cherished goals continues with full vigor.

Senator Taj Haider said that Senator Raza Rabbani had created unique consensus between all political parties while passing the historic 18^th Amendment of the Constitution. There are still very big challenges to Democracy in Pakistan and the need of the hour is to strengthen this consensus between all political parties. Let the Government also manifest its commitment to Democracy by electing Senator Raza Rabbani unanimously, he appealed.
