Shahbaz Sharif avoids to meet the blinds,directs admin to resolve their issues

CM Punjab Shahbaz SharifLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has avoided to meet the blinds even after calling their representative delegation for talks .

The Chief Minister held a meeting to review their demands  and directed the administration to resolve their issues  immediately. As he came to know that the opposition had provided them breakfast in the morning outside Punjab Assembly,he further directed that utmost care should be taken of the visually impaired persons while food and other facilities should also be provided them on priority basis.

He constituted a committee comprising concerned ministers, assembly members and officers and issued instructions to resolve the matter relating to blind persons amicably under the law.

He was presiding over a high level meeting, here today. Provincial Ministers Col. (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada, Asif Saeed Manhais, Syed Haroon Sultan Bukhari, Members Punjab Assembly Rana Sanaullah, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Saba Sadiq, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned officers were present.

The meeting reviewed in detail the demands of the blind persons. Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that blind persons deserve special attention and love of the society and their genuine problems will be resolved under the law.

He directed the committee that the demands and problems of the blind persons be given a sympathetic consideration and they should be saved from inconvenience. He said that the decisions taken in the meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Blind Association are being implemented. He said that Punjab government is taking all out measures for ensuring respect of special persons and making them useful citizens of the society.

Shahbaz Sharif said that provincial government has adopted an effective strategy for rehabilitation of visually impaired persons and other special persons and decided to increase their job quota from two percent to three percent. He said that legislation is being made in this regard. He said that centers for rehabilitation of special persons have been set up throughout the province and huge funds are being spent on education and training of special children.
