Minister for Home Punjab appeals donations for homeless children

Minister Interior shuja khanzada visits child protection bureau Minister InteriorMinister Interior shuja khanzada visits child protection bureauLahore: Provincial Minister for Home, Col(R) Shuja Khanzada has said that government is utilizing maximum resources for the protection of children as they are guarantee to a bright future of the country. He said that protection and provision of education and training to make homeless children useful members of the society is the vision of the Chief Minister.

He was talking to media during his visit to Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, here today. Saba Sadiq and Ansar Burney also accompanied him.

The Minister said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau is playing an important role in providing shelter to homeless children and has full support of the government in this regard. Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau is working day and night for the welfare of children and 1869 lost children have been reunited with their families.

He said that government will provide all possible cooperation to set up Child Protection Commission under which Labour, Social Welfare and other concerned departments will work as a unit for the protection of children. Provincial Minister said that child protection units are being established in Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Multan with the cooperation of UNICEF for the welfare and betterment of homeless children.

He said that media is playing a positive role in the protection of children and many children have been rescued from unscrupulous elements. He urged businessmen and industrialists to give maximum donations to Child Protection Bureau so that Child Protection and Welfare Endowment Fund could be established for homeless children.

The Minister said that provision of sports goods to the children in Child Protection and Welfare Bureau by Punjab Sports Board is appreciable. He said that well-to-do persons and philanthropists can save these children from sense of deprivation by supporting this noble cause. He said that a campaign is going on against beggary for making beggar children useful citizens. He said that government will not only support the steps taken for protection of children but also provide all out assistance in this regard.
