Lahore: Former Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said that despite the recent unrest and the Energy Crisis, the future of Pakistan is very promising. Very soon we’ll deal with the problems we are facing. International experts are compelled to admit and acknowledged that process of development in Pakistan cannot be stopped in any case.He narrated different resources blessed by Almighty Allah to Pakistan and mentioned that fertile land and minerals that Pakistan have are available to few countries of the world.
He said “Peshawar tragedy has united the nation. Democracy is flourishing in Pakistan. Our media is independent and judiciary is very powerful. Our national Institutions are moving in the right direction, following the constitutional path. Civil Servants get jobs on merit after passing competitive examination”.
He also pointed out weak points of the nation and said that we would have to overcome inferiority complex, eliminate corruption, and establish rule of law in the country to be in the top 10 countries of the world. He also mentioned the responsibilities of overseas Pakistanis and said that “every overseas Pakistani is the ambassador of the country, their practices can make country’s image good or bad”.
He said that overseas Pakistanis, in any case, should not split themselves in different groups. The country’s politics is limited to the country, Pakistanis living abroad should live united under national flag.
Pakistan’s ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Manzoor Ul Haq, admired the services of Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema and praised his writings.
Ambassador of Pakistan arranged a prestigious ceremony in the honour Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema at Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The purpose the ceremony was to pay rich tribute the guest Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, for his valuable contributions during his service and to introduce the book “Do Tok Baten”.
The ceremony was presided by honourable Ambassador of Pakistan, Manzoor Ul Haq.
Community Welfare Attaché Caption (R) Syed Abid Hammad said “ I am honoured to be the part of the ceremony where our national hero, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, is chief guest. Its relatively easy for me to express my views about him as I have served under his command when I was serving as ASP.”
He said “Zulfiqar Cheema is role model for not only Police Officers but for all civil servants”. Designation had the significance by virtue of his persona, he added. Senior Professor and renowned columnist of Shah Saud University, Javed Iqbal admired the writings of Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema.
At the end of the ceremony, honourable Ambassador of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia admired the services of Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema and presented him a shield.
