A delegation of Overseas Pakistanis calls on Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: A delegation of Overseas Pakistanis from Spain called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi at their residence here today.

Delegation headed by Mehr Irfan expressed their great anger and sorrow over closure of the PIA flight direct for Barcelona, Spain, from Lahore which was started by Ch Shujat Hussain as a result of which they were lot of difficulties and problems in their travelling, not only this the free facility to bring dead bodies of expired Overseas Pakistanis to home by PIA has also been withdrawn. They pointed out that even this facility was started by the national airline on the direction of Ch Shujat Hussain.

Delegation members said that the govt was meting out step-motherly treatment with the Overseas Pakistanis who were remitting home billions of rupees they were earning in foreign countries, no attention was being paid to solve their problems in Pakistan and in foreign countries, instead of granting them more facilities and amenities even those facilities granted the PML were also being withdrawn.

Strongly supporting the demands of the delegation, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said Overseas Pakistanis remit home all they earn through day and night hard work while being away from their families and as such were playing important role in the national economy, it was highly deplorable that instead of solving their problems facilities already granted to them were also being withdrawn.

Delegation of Overseas Pakistanis included Mehr Fayyaz, Usman Chaudhry, Ch Imran Akhtar, Mian Zakir Abbas, Ch Ashfaq Dev, Adeel Akhtar Kaira and Omar Akhtar among others.
