Malik Nadeem announces chairmen of district zakat committees of 25 districts

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran has directed the Chairman of District Zakat Committees of the province to spare no effort in service to destitute people and ensuring timely and transparent distribution of zakat funds among deserving families.Minister Zakat Malik Nadeem

Notifications of nomination to the chairmen of district zakat committees of 25 districts on Club Road today. Provincial Ministers Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz,Hameeda Waheed ud Din, Mansha Ullah Butt, Chairman Provincial Zakat Council Justice (R) Akhtar Hasan, Parliamentary Secretary Information & Culture Rana Muhammad Arshad, Secretary Zakat & Usher Habib ur Rehman Gilani, Administrator Zakat Muhammad Yousaf Butt and other officers were present on the occasion.

The Provincial Minister asked the newly nominated chairmen to come up to the confidence expressed by the government in them and discharge their moral and religious duties by rising above their personal, political and liking and disliking.

Malik Nadeem Kamran disclosed that more than Rs. 3.33 billion will be distributed under various heads of zakat funds during 2014-15 whereas first six-monthly installment has been distributed. He said that in view of the importance of 176 training centers working under Punjab Vocational Training Council, their number is being further increased. He told that last year, the number of those getting technical education from these training centers was 56 thousand whereas this year, more than 80 thousand male and female students will benefit from vocational educational courses and earn livelihood for their families. clock to the poor and deserving persons. He asked them to give proposals for further improving the process of collection and distribution of zakat.

He further asked the chairman to meet the philanthropists of their concerned districts and motivate them to pay their zakat and other charity amounts to the zakat department so that financial assistance could be provided to the maximum deserving people under a coordinated strategy. He stressed upon the chairmen to keep close liaison with district administration and officers of zakat department posted in their districts and in case of any problem with regard to timely distribution of zakat, should immediately contact him or in the office of Secretary Zakat.

Director PVTC Sajid Naseer also gave briefings to the nominated chairmen about their departments. Later Provincial Minister gave away notifications of nomination to the chairmen of District Zakat Committees of 25 districts. He said this while addressing the ceremony of distribution of Malik Nadeem Kamran stressed upon the chairmen to serve round the Secretary Zakat and Usher Habib ur Rehman Gilani and Managing Director PVTC Sajid Naseer also gave briefings to the nominated chairmen about their departments.

Later Provincial Minister gave away notifications of nomination to the chairmen of District Zakat Committees of 25 districts.
