LHC Multan Bench upholds death sentence for an accused of Mian Channu blast

Lahore: Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq of Lahore High Court Multan Bench while announcing decision on the appeal of Master Riaz, an accused in Mian Channu bomb blast case, has upheld the orders of Terrorist Court for 13 times death sentence. Anti-Terrorist Court No. II of Multan had awarded 13 times death sentence to Master Riaz on June 26, 2012.LHC Multan Bench

According to details, on July 13, 2009, the explosive material placed at the house of Master Riaz in adjacent village of Mian Channu on GT Road blasted due to which dozen of houses were collapsed and 13 persons died while 29 injured. A JIT constituted on that day arrested Master Riaz who used to supply bombs and explosive material to terrorists. Javed Iqbal, Judge of Anti-Terrorist Court No. II of Multan had awarded 13 times death sentence to Master Riaz on June 26, 2012. The accuse filed an appeal in Lahore High Court against the decision of Anti-Terrorist Court, upon which, Lahore High Court Multan Bench upheld the decision of Anti-Terrorist Court. District Public Prosecutors Malik Riaz, Muhammad Jafar and Abdul Wadood represented the state in the case, upon which, Special Assistant to CM congratulated them and sent special commendatory certificates for them.
