PAT will not rest till accused of Model Town killings are hanged:Dr Tahir ul Qadri

Lahore: The chairman of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr. Tahirul Qadri directly speaking via audio link has stated that PAT will not rest till those responsible for the Model Town killings are hanged till death.

Addressing the protesting PAT workers and leaders the PAT chairman said that no force can stop them from seeking justice for those PAT workers killed in the Model Town incident and further added that the rulers have links with banned and terrorists outfits. He said that different quarters have become active as they do not want the military courts to start functioning. He said that the Pakistan Army and Pat are the only two forces that sincerely want to end terrorism and extremism in the country. Parliament have not even owned the war as their own war.

Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that we have not and will never accept these Joint Investigation Teams that are formed without our consensus and we can never think of betraying those killed in the Model Town incident. He said to seek justice the people will have to come out. He said Electricity, gas and now petrol has become scarce, corruption is rampant, inflation is high, under these circumstances how can the people of the country stay inside, now is the time to come out and take what is yours.

PAT chief  said that only Dr Tahir ul Qadri and  Imran Khan cannot bring a revolution when the masses sit in their houses; they have to come out as the rulers are making a fool of the people under the guise of the war against terrorism. He said the Punjab Assembly session continued for a month and not for a single minute did the members debate the issue of terrorism and at the conclusion a crippled ordinance was issued.  This amounts to making a fool of the people who voted them to power and gave them a chance to sit in the parliament. He said the rulers are making a mockery of the mandate given by the masses and are only using the issue as political leaver.

He said that twelve people were killed in France and their the ruler bought the whole of the nation out on the streets, does our prime minister have no moral values and is he not ashamed? Why did our PM not give a call for a million man march against terrorism when our children were killed in Peshawar? He said that PAT is the only political party that took out protest demonstrations in 60 cities of Pakistan against terrorism.

Speaking on the occasion the president of PAT Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi gave the rulers one month to accept their demands, otherwise the circle of protests will be expanded to all over the country. He said the Punjab CM must resign, a JIT be formed with the consensus of the heirs of those killed in the Model Town incident and the judicial commission report be made public, Taqueer Shah be arrested and the Model Town incident case be sent to a military court.

Raheeq Abbasi  said that the FIR of the incident was registered only after the intervention of the Chief of the Army Staff who also promised to give us justice, now we ask him to fulfill his promised and provide us justice. He said that the Sharif brothers want to hide their crimes behind the National Action Plan, but we will not rest till we ensure that justice is provided to the families of the bereaved killed in Model Town incident. He said that if we do not get justice we will against start our sit-ins in Raiwind, Model Town and Islamabad. He said some terrorists are in the mountains, some in caves and some are sitting in the parliaments of the country.

Several other leaders of PAT and its allies attended the rally outside the Lahore Press Club. The workers raised slogan against the government and rejecting the JIT. The workers sought justice for the blood of those killed in the Model Town incident.
