PAF adopts a unique way of presenting tribute to the martyrs of APS

JF-17 Fly pastLahore: On the directives of Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, PAF adopted a unique way of presenting tribute to the martyrs and courageous students of Army Public School Peshawar. Flying at a low altitude, three JF-17 Thunders of Pakistan Air Force flew over APS to salute the martyrs and resilient students of the school. A large number of students, teachers and the parents who were gathered at the School for this unique event, witnessed the fly past by PAF JF-17 Thunder aircraft. The high speed bomb burst by the formation of Thunders left the crowd spellbound. As the aircraft exited the area, the highly charged and motivated students chanted slogans in favor of Pakistan and PAF.

The Air Chief in his special message to the students of APS lauded their courage for resuming their academics after such a gruesome terrorist attack and stated that the supreme sacrifice of the martyred students of APS would never go waste. He also reiterated his resolve to fight against the enemies of the country while standing shoulder to shoulder with the nation. The fly past was a clear manifestation of PAF’s resolve to fight the menace of terrorism as the Air force is playing a lead role in the ongoing operation Zarb e Azb.

At the end of the event, the students sang the national anthem with a renewed vigor and resolve to fight against the evil of terrorism. The students and faculty present at the event termed it a historical event which would be cherished by the nation for the times to come. The unique event was arranged by PAF as the nation mourned one month of horrific terrorist attack on APS Peshawar.
