Administration should resolve people’s problems on priority basis:Chief Secretary Punjab

Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has said that Punjab will be put on the road to progress and development by implementing Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif’s vision of good governance and merit. He said that the situation demands that all officers should perform their duties efficiently and necessary measures be taken for the eradication of terrorism. The Chief Secretary stressed upon administrative secretaries to take effective steps for the solution of people’s problems and warned that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.Chief Secretaray Punjab

He was presiding over a high level meeting of administrative secretaries, commissioners and district coordination officers at Civil Secretariat here today. He directed that administration should facilitate the masses and resolve people’s problems on priority basis. The Chief Secretary was given a briefing by the Provincial Secretaries of Home, Health, Revenue, Planning & Development, Higher Education and Industries Department.

The Home Secretary informed that foolproof security arrangement have been made in the province and in order to control terrorism, old arms licenses will be cancelled and new arms licenses will be issued. Similarly he said that fine on the misuse of sound system is being increased from Rs. 25 thousand to Rs. one lakh. He said that security arrangements in all schools are being further improved.

Secretary Health told that all out measures have been taken for coping with polio virus and as this virus become active during the period from January to March therefore best results will be achieved from the polio campaign launched during this period. He further informed that administrations of all districts have played a commendable role in anti-measles campaign.

Secretary Communication and Works told that 10426 km long roads will be repaired and reconstructed in the province under Khadim Punjab Green Road Programme. The meeting was informed that 73619 km long roads will be repaired and reconstructed in various districts in Punjab. The roads will be widened from 10 feet to 12 feet and all roads in the province to be constructed in future will be 12 feet wide.

Revenue Department informed that recovery of revenue will be further increased this year and action will be taken against Patwaris not cooperating the computerization of record. Performance of Patwaris and Tehsildars will be regularly monitored to provide best services to the citizens.
