Committee has been constituted for resolving the problems of cooperative housing societies: Iqbal Channar

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that three-member committee has been constituted for resolving the problems of cooperative housing societies. He said that strict action will be taken against the housing societies failing to complete their work at fixed time and not implementing the bylaws. He said that instructions have also been issued for action against the societies and their administrations which have not conducted audit and elections.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of housing societies of Lahore division, today.  Additional Secretary Cooperative Abdullah Shahid, Joint Registrar Nisar Ahsan Zaidi, District Officer Cooperative Saith Muhammad Iqbal, DDOC Farrukh Hayat Pannu and representatives of Cooperative Housing Societies were also present on the occasion.

The Minister said that steps will be taken for the solution of the complaints of Cooperative Housing Societies against LDA, LWMC, Environment Department and WAPDA. He said that complaints have also been received against the office-bearers of cooperative societies and if these complaints proved valid, action will also be taken against them. He said that action has also been started against those selling the plots allocated for playgrounds, mosques, graveyards and schools in housing societies.

Iqbal Channar said that government has started accountability of every department and these societies will also be held accountable.
