21 amendment of the constitution is challenged in the supreme court registry Lahore

the supreme court registry lahoreLahore: The 21st amendment in the constitution that permitted military courts in the country is challenged in the supreme court registry Lahore soon after president of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain signed the bill to make the amendment part of the constitution.

The constitutional petition is filed by the Watan Party’s barrister Zafarullah who pleaded that military courts had been declared unlawful by the supreme court of Pakistan but by passing the 21st amendment bill by the parliament, the basic framework of the constitution is altered by making changes in the number of sections of Article 125 and snubbing basic human rights that is clear violation of the basic of the constitution.

The petitioner prayed that all the parliamentarians who voted in the favour of 21st amendment should be trial under contempt of court and the amendment to be announced null & void.
