Punjab Government to set up facilitation centers throughout the province

Punjab Information Technology BoardLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which decided to set up facilitation centers throughout the province for the provision of various services to the citizens under one roof. Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board gave a detailed briefing regarding the project.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the provision of prompt and best services to the citizens is agenda of the government. He said that facilitation centers will be set up in all districts of the province for providing various services to the citizens under one roof. He said that establishment of facilitation centers will save the people from the inconvenience of visiting different offices for availing services.CM PUNJAB 01

Shahbaz Sharif while setting up a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary directed that the committee should present a comprehensive plan regarding the establishment of facilitation centers in all districts while the draft law of Right to Service Act be finalized within a week. He said that provision of facilities to the people and public service is a mission of the government and billions of rupees are being spent on the projects aimed at providing relief to the common man. He said that instead of constructing new buildings for setting up facilitation centers, the already existing buildings should be utilized for this purpose and a survey be conducted in the province for this purpose.

The Chief Minister said that the project of setting up centers for provision of services to the citizens under one roof is of vital importance and all out measures should be taken for its speedy completion. He said that provision of services under one roof will also safe precious time of the citizens. Regarding traffic problems, Shahbaz Sharif directed CTO to take effective measures for streamlining the flow of traffic. He said that people can be provided relief through maintaining smooth flow of traffic.

The meeting was informed that initially 16 services will be provided by different departments under one roof at facilitation centers and the scope of these services will gradually be expanded. Chairman Information Technology Board informed that facilitation centers will provide union council services, birth certificates, ownership deeds, vehicle registration, driving license and other services to the citizens. Work on facilitation center at Rawalpindi has been completed which will soon start functioning. Provincial Minister for Law Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Inspector General Police, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries of Law, Local Government, Excise & Taxation and Transport Departments, Commissioners of Rawalpindi, Lahore, DG LDA and concerned officials were present on the occasion.
