Former kabaddi captain Tajammal dies in traffic accident

Former kabaddi captain TajammalLahore: The year 2015 began for Pakistan kabaddi on sad note when former captain of national kabaddi team Tajammal Bajwa died in a traffic accident near Gojra on Thursday.

Tajammal, who was in his late 20s, has led national kabaddi team in Asian Games in the past. He also featured in Indo-Pak Punjab Games in March 2014 and beach kabaddi tournament as a stopper. Tajammal, who hails from Faisalabad, was also part of national training camp for Kabaddi World Cup but could not accompany the national team due to a shoulder injury.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow on the demise of Tajammal Bajwa. DG SBP, in his condolence message, prayed that Allah, the Almighty, may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give the bereaved family courage to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

National kabaddi captain Shafiq Ahmed Chishti, head coach Ghulam Abbas Butt, assistant coach Umer Hayat, General Secretary of Pakistan Circle Kabaddi Federation Sarwar Butt, team manager Waqas Akbar and a large number of kabaddi players and fans have also expressed their heartfelt grief on the sad demise of Tajammal Bajwa.
