Chief Secretary lays the foundation stone of Trauma center at Tehsil Hospital Wazirabad

Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema has said that government is spending huge amounts for increasing modern treatment facilities in government hospitals so that all requirements of the people could be met in the nearest hospitals. He expressed these views while laying the foundation stone of 15-beded Gyne ward and 40-beded Trauma center at Tehsil Hospital Wazirabad today. A sum of more than Rs. 10 crore will be spent on this project and it will be completed in a year. Commissioner Gujranwala Division Shumail Ahmed Khawaja, Secretary Health Jawad Ahmed, DCO Azmat Mehmood and Director General Health Punjab Dr. Zahid Pervaiz also participated in the meeting.

The Chief Secretary directed officers of Works Department to ensure completion of these projects within stipulated period by adopting a development stChief Sec Punjab 2rategy and best planning so that a number of villages of the Tehsil could benefit from it. SE Building informed the Chief Secretary about the details of the project. Naveed Akram Cheema said that the basic health facilities are being ensured at every government hospital and rural center where besides posting of qualified doctors and staff, modern medical equipments are also being provided on priority basis. He said that provincial government has paid full attention to the public welfare projects and steps are also being taken for ensuring fruits of these projects to the people.

Later, Chief Secretary Punjab Naveed Akram Cheema laid foundation stone of Gymkhana Gujrat which will cost Rs. 3.5 crore. He directed district administration to pay attention to the promotion of indoor and outdoor sports. He said that like Sialkot, business community of Gujrat should also start mega projects for the development of the city as development is not possible without participation of community. The Chief Secretary said that government alone cannot carry out every project, therefore, every citizen should play his role in this regard.
