Punjab University accepts demands of Academic Staff Association

PULahore: On the request of Punjab University Academic Staff Association (ASA) Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran directed the official concerned to issue teachers’ research incentive awards and performance evaluation awards besides acceptance in principle a demand regarding increase in the monthly allowance of hostel wardens and superintendents.

A delegation of ASA including Dr Shazia Naureen Qureshi, Dr Mehboob Hussain, Dr Abid Hussain Ch, Dr Faheem Aftab and Farhan Ch visited the Vice Chancellor and presented demands for the welfare of the teachers’ community.

The VC accepting all the demands issued a directive on this occasion. The VC ordered the Registrar and Treasurer to issue research incentive awards and performance evaluation awards at the earliest. The VC also accepted the demand to confirm all teachers who have completed their probation periods. The ASA delegation paid their thanks to VC on his positive gesture for the welfare of the teaching community.

Speaking on this occasion Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran said that his administration always remained teachers friendly and he worked to remove all hurdles in the way of merit based promotions and postings of the teachers. He said due to teachers’ co-operation the university was improving its impact factor publications.
